Bali Experience
Two bases, no wasted transfers: rice-terrace mornings in Ubud, then surf, spa and sunset in the south.

Indonesia
Rice terraces above Ubud, black-sand surf breaks in the south and clifftop temples that empty out beautifully at sunset.
Overview
Bali is best split into two or three bases rather than one. Ubud for the rice terraces, temples and river valleys; the south — Seminyak, Canggu or Uluwatu — for surf, sunsets and food; and if you have the nights, Nusa Penida or the Gilis for the water.
Traffic is the one thing people underestimate. Ubud to Uluwatu can take two and a half hours on a bad afternoon, so we build itineraries that move once and stay put.
