Design concept
A room that empties itself
Retail interiors usually compete with the product. This one was designed to recede: every fixture is either transparent, or the colour of the wall behind it, or heavy enough to read as architecture rather than furniture.
The plan is a single 22-metre view from the door to the back wall, with three cast-glass tables interrupting it at different heights. Rails are wall-mounted only. Nothing stands in the middle of the floor except the tables.
Pigmented plaster in a deep clay tone wraps the walls and ceiling as one surface, so that the corners disappear and the eye has nothing to measure the room by except the garments.

What the room is made of
Cast glass
40mm kiln-cast slabs, arrised edges, no polish.
Patinated bronze
Rails and hardware, chemically aged then waxed.
Pigmented plaster
Deep clay tone, applied to wall and ceiling as one plane.

Sightline
A clear 22m axis from entrance to rear wall, uninterrupted at eye level.
Ceiling
Plaster returns down the wall without a shadow gap, removing the room’s corners.
Fitting rooms
Three heavy curtained bays set into the wall thickness rather than built out from it.

Fixtures
Three cast-glass tables at 620, 740 and 900mm, arranged to slow movement through the room.
Lighting
Track removed entirely; lighting is a continuous slot wash plus twelve tight accents.
Mirrors
Full-height, slightly bronzed, angled 2 degrees off the wall.
